History and General Information

FOUNDATION AND HISTORY

Our Faculty was established under the Rectorate of Erciyes University by a decision of the Council of Ministers dated 1 September 1997, published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Türkiye dated 3 September 1997.

Our Faculty was transferred to the Rectorate of Nevşehir University, established by Law No. 5662, which entered into force upon its publication in the Official Gazette dated 29 May 2007 and numbered 26536.

In the 1998–1999 academic year, the Department of Business Administration,

in the 2001–2002 academic year, the Department of Economics,

in the 2003–2004 academic year, the Department of Economics (Evening Programme),

in the 2008–2009 academic year, the Department of Business Administration (Evening Programme),

in the 2008–2009 academic year, the Department of Tourism Management and Hotel Management,

in the 2008–2009 academic year, the Department of Tourism Management and Hotel Management (Evening Programme),

in the 2009–2010 academic year, the Department of Public Administration, began admitting students.

In the 2012–2013 academic year, an English preparatory class was established in the Business Administration and Economics Departments.

In the 2015–2016 academic year, the Department of Tourism Management and Hotel Management was closed and transferred to the Faculty of Tourism.

In the 2015–2016 academic year, the Department of Tourism Management and Hotel Management (Evening Programme) was closed and transferred to the Faculty of Tourism.

In the 2016–2017 academic year, the Department of Banking and Finance began admitting students.

In the 2016–2017 academic year, the Banking and Finance Department (Evening Programme) began admitting students.

In the 2017–2018 academic year, the Department of International Relations became operational with students admitted to the First and Second Cycle programmes.

In the 2017–2018 academic year, the Department of International Trade and Logistics became operational with students admitted to the First and Second Cycle programmes.

As of the spring semester of the 2023-2024 academic year, a total of 2,340 students are continuing their education at our Faculty.

Our Faculty currently operates with 13 Professors, 9 Associate Professors, 26 Senior Lecturers and 17 Research Assistants.

WHY THE FACULTY OF ECONOMICS AND ADMINISTRATIVE SCIENCES?

Educational activities at our Faculty are based on the philosophy of “Striving for the Better; By Evaluating the Past, Understanding the Present and Planning for the Future”.

Within this framework, our students are educated on the principle of sharing the scientific knowledge gained through economics and business studies, along with its multiplier effect.

This principle is supported by the unity of research and teaching, which are the fundamental functions of a university identity. Our graduates are equipped not only to secure employment in key career fields but also with the ability to establish independent businesses and pursue entrepreneurship.

STUDENT LOAN AND SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Our students can benefit from the Student Loan and Tuition Loan services offered by the Directorate General of Student Loans and Dormitories. Scholarship services provided by organisations such as TEV, TÜBİTAK and the Ministry of National Education are also open to our students’ applications. Furthermore, our students can work part-time in various departments of our Faculty during their free time.

POST-GRADUATION CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Our Faculty has adopted the mission of primarily training managerial candidates and entrepreneurs for the private sector. In the private sector, graduates have employment opportunities in fields such as independent accountancy and financial consultancy, banks and financial institutions, insurance companies, public relations, human resources, media, sales and marketing, advertising, and business management.

In the public sector, opportunities include District Governor’s Offices, Administrative Court Judgeships, Ministry Inspection Boards and Ministry Inspectorates, Accounting Expertise, Revenue Control, Auditing, Assistant State Personnel Expert, Assistant Treasury and Foreign Trade Expert, Assistant State Planning Organisation Expert, Auditor at the Prime Minister’s High Audit Board, and Professional Officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
