General Description of the Institution
Nevşehir Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences was founded in 1997. It accepted students for the Department of Business Administration in 1998, and then the Department of Economics began to accept students in 2001. The students who registered in 1998 graduated from the Faculty at the end of the 2002-2003 academic year. Starting from the 2003-2004 Academic Year, the Department of Economics accepted students for evening classes.
The vision of Nevşehir Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences is based on this understanding: “From better to better; by evaluating the past understanding today and planning the future”. In this context, our principle is to share information and analyze the economic facts scientifically.
The staffs of the Faculty consist of 2 professor, 1 associate professor, 9 assistant professors, 2 lecturer, 3 instructors, and 23 research assistants. Some academic staff from Erciyes University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences also supports us.
The faculty has two computer laboratories for 40 students, 2 classrooms with technical equipment and a room for the students to study their graduation theses and do their homework for the seminar lesson. Furthermore, the Internet is easily accessible from the computer laboratory, and the students can benefit fully from the computer laboratory in their free time and at weekends.
There are two computers in the Faculty Library, and about 600 key words were created in order to help the readers to access the articles in the periodicals easily. Books and necessary statistics can also be reached in the same way.
Thirteen student clubs, which function in several areas, were established in order to make the students be more sociable, more cultured and active in sports and other fields. These clubs function as “communication and interaction environments” for the students.
We educate our students so that they can be managers in the private sector, and we hope that they will be the entrepreneurs of the future. Our graduates are likely to find jobs as managers in public institutions, the private sector and the banking sector.
